Selby is a great place to explore & there is plenty to see and do. The property has a variety of walking tracks and your hosts, Ron and Andrea will be able to direct you to the best areas of the property to discover
There is a unique collection of flora and fauna including the Rankins Springs orchid, wattles, drooping casuarinas etc. The native wildlife we have in our hills is AMAZING…. kangaroos, wallabies, emus etc and the birdlife is so abundant – you might even be lucky enough to spot the endangered Glossy Black Cockatoo or Mallee fowl
You will also have the opportunity to meet some of our pet sheep, working dog Zeke, alpacas and our chooks
Bring your own bike (with puncture proof tyres) and take a leisurely ride around the property – breathing in some of that fabulous country air or join in some of the general chores, feeding chooks, dogs, lambs, chip a few weeds,… there is always plenty to do!
DAMS – there are a number of dams on Selby. The dam nearest The Shack is a perfect way to cool down in the summer months sitting by the dam with your drinks and nibbles!
Yabbying can be done here also – pots and instructions available
Kayaks are available upon request
SPORTS – a variety of *sporting activities are available locally
Tennis – can be arranged at the local Rankins Springs Tennis Club – some racquets & balls are provided
Golf – Rankins Springs has a great little country golf course, where you can get first hand experience playing on a ‘sand green’

What’s happening in ‘The Springs’ –
There is always something going on in town that visitors are very welcome to partake in. There is a folder provided on arrival that will have an up to date list of activities from live entertainment to social golf days. Like most small villages there is a lot going on… we are a very proactive community & locals love to meet people passing through
