Your home away from home
The Shack at Selby Farm Stay is a comfortable, 2 bedroom self-contained unit with a fully equipped kitchen including fridge, gas stove and microwave
There are ceiling fans (reverse cycling) in the main room and bedroom 2 has oil heaters and fans
A DVD player, CD/radio, games, books (and much more) are supplied for your enjoyment
Please note that while there is no WiFi, The Shack does usually receive adequate Telstra reception
The Shack offers fully provisioned tea and coffee making facilities
An outside BBQ (with gas) is supplied so you can enjoy cooking in “the great outdoors” as much as you desire
Wood for an outdoor campfire is also provided, ready for you to light – after a quick initiation to our “fire etiquette”. The Shack offers basic cookware for outdoor cooking over the fire, if that is what you would prefer (although this option is not available if there are fire restrictions)
On arrival you will be welcomed by Andrea with some home baking ready for you to enjoy once you’ve settled in. It is advised to bring your food and drinks with you, as the town of Griffith is about 65kms away (approx 50 minute drive) and the local Rankins Springs shop offers only basic goods with opening hours that might not suit your time frame eg. not open weekends!
Rankins Springs does have:
- A country pub that serves cold drinks and hearty evening meals most nights
- A general store/post office
- A petrol station/garage
Rankins Springs doesn’t have:
- An ATM
- A supermarket
IMPORTANT
We are totally reliant on rainfall for drinking water at The Shack – please bring your own bottled water if you’d prefer

At The Shack you will feel like you are on your own… completely!
The verandah is the perfect spot for your morning cuppa OR sit on the verandah in the warm evening sun with a wine (or two) just watching the world go by
Camp fire provided – sit outside under the stars or just sit out by the fire enjoying such a simple pleasure
